Yukari Semba auf Forschungsreise
Am Wochenende hatten wir Besuch aus Japan. Dr. Yukari Semba ist eine Forscherin, die sich schon seit vielen Jahren mit der Gametenspende befasst. Wir trafen sie bereits im letzten Jahr bei einer Podiumsdiskussion des CERF in Freiburg.
Jetzt hat sie einen Forschungsauftrag der japanischen Regierung erhalten, bei dem es vor allem um das Recht der Kindes auf Kenntnis der Abstammung geht.
Yukari hat zunächst in Berlin eine weitere Familie aus dem DI-Netz interviewt und auch jemanden aus dem Verein „Spenderkinder“. Dann besuchte sie uns am Sonntag in unserem Zuhause in Bielefeld, später dann noch Petra Thorn in Mörfelden.
Sie wollte mehr über unser Netzwerk wissen, wie wir organisiert sind und wie wir unseren Verein aufgebaut haben. Sie fragte nach unserer Haltung zur Spenderanonymität und wie wir mit der Tatsache der Spendersamenbehandlung in der Familie umgehen. Wir erzählen immer gern davon und darüber, was unser Netzwerk bisher alles geschafft hat. Es war für uns ein herzlicher Kontakt mit Yukari, und wir haben auch einiges über die Situation in Japan gelernt. Ein ziemlich kurzweiliger Sonntag für unsere ganze Familie.
Wir freuen uns schon auf den Forschungsbericht für die japanische Regierung, er soll Anfang April fertig sein.

„In Japan there is no law and legislation regarding donor conception yet. The political working group is now preparing for the draft of a donor conception bill. In the draft donor anonymity is one of the big issues. Many people recently say that donor offspring should have a right to know their biological origin. That is the reason why we are required to research about other countries‘ situation about the issue. We need to know about the situation regarding donor anonymity in other countries.
DI-Netz is a nationwide organization in Germany, supporting DI families and persons who are considering DI. It encourages those people to tell the truth to their children about their conception. I think your work is very important and contributing to the movement for the abolishment of donor anonymity in Germany. I spent a few hours with Claudia and Ulrich, and I could learn a lot of DI-Netz‘ history, works and contribution. The dialogue with Claudia and Ulrich was very helpful to think about the issues regarding donor anonymity in Japan.
After the meeting they invited me for lunch. They have one daughter, who was born by DI, and they told her about her conception right from the beginning. During the lunch her talks and smile made all of us happy and made my heart warm. I thought that they and their daughter were made in heaven before they actually met each other. „
